In 2024, AC Lightnin written a poem about the challenges of finding love in today's modern dating market by asking the question, “what's the price of love"? In one of his best heartfelt performances of this poem, AC shows that love can go beyond than just material things. Check out the video performance on his YouTube channel.
In January 2025, AC Lightnin performed at SOBs for the 1st time ever in “Poetry Me, Please” showcase with his other poem, “Black Boys.” A poem AC Lightnin 1st came up with back in 2017 and throughout the years from workshops and editing, this poem became the one that resonates with audiences every time AC recites this poem. In 2023, AC Lightnin challenged himself to watch a movie and write a poem based on how he was motivated by which led to the creation of his poem, “Above the Rim.” Based off of films like “Coach Carter” and “Freedom Writers”, AC Lightnin's poem aim to show his audience while music and sports are beautiful, we can aspire to do more than to think black boys are only good for being athletes and musicians. A poem that stemmed from an English classwork assignment during his time at City College in late-2019. A poem that came from a previous relationship, during the pandemic in 2020 AC Lightnin wrote a poem that describe the male experience when it comes to dating as a male in today's modern world and how it can be challenging to express your feelings and receiving backlash for doing so. While the poem maybe be controversial in some aspect, “Good Guys Gone Bad” has been considered one of AC Lightnin's best poems in recent years. In 2024, AC Lightnin dropped one of his heartfelt singles, “Emotionally Disturbed” showcasing his raw storytelling about his challenges dealing with his struggles with speech impediment and ADHD from his young age to how he found the courage to not let those projections stop him from chasing his dreams and be who he was made to be.
In 2020, AC Lightnin debuted with his 1st EP, Rehabilitation, with the release of a few music videos. Including one with the intro of his project, “Welcome to Rehabilitation (Intro).”
If there's a single of AC Lightnin that can be retrospective and catchy all in one, it's his 2nd single from the Rehabilitation EP, Redo. A record that goes into depth about how at some point in our lives, some have wondered if life can offer us a second, third or even fourth chance. You can check out the music video here!
In 2021, AC Lightnin released a single titled, Get Through (originally titled, Uplift) at a time where there was unrest and hope being questione if it was there or not. A song also where AC is tryna push himsel to navigate through criticisms from others and himself. Check out the music video
